Congratulating Sally and her Mission Melanoma crew

We would like to congratulate Sally and her crew of Mission Melanoma - Doing It For Lionel for such a successful day on Saturday 5 November 2022, who raised an astounding amount of $13,600. They organised an inaugural Mission Melanoma Doing it For Lionel Golf Day at Narromine Golf Course.

Not only was it a special day for the family, honouring such a great man, but it was for Sally too, who we publicly announced is joining our ASCF board of directors. What an incredible asset for us.

Here are a few words from Sally about the day:

“It was an incredibly special day for our family, we have been so overwhelmed by the generosity of people & business in supporting us bringing the Golf Day together. We had decided to hold a golf day as we saw it as a way of spreading the message of the importance of being proactive with your health, sun safety, regular skin checks & the fantastic work the Australian Skin Cancer Foundation does across its four pillars to a large & diverse group of people.

We raised an incredible amount of funds to go straight to the foundation & we also had a number of people commit to getting a skin check. We love hearing people make these commitments as it could potentially save a life.

In the short time between Dads diagnosis & losing him we learnt so much about melanoma & what a horrible painful form of cancer it is. It has made us determined as a family to do what we can to create awareness in the hope that no one else has to watch their loved one suffer & experience what we did losing Dad.

Telling our story is often hard, but it isn’t as hard as a battle with Melanoma.”
